Postdoctoral Researchers

Adam Barnas

Adam received his B.S. in Psychology and Molecular & Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois in 2011 and his M.S. in Psychology from the University of Dayton in 2014. He earned his Ph.D. in Psychology (Cognitive Neuroscience) at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2019 working with Adam Greenberg. He then completed a post-doc down the road at the University of Wisconsin-Madison working with Emily Ward. Adam’s previous work focused on understanding the representational basis upon which visual attention mechanisms operate, such as locations and objects, as well as investigating the role of metacognition in failures of visual awareness. He is eager to expand his research from a focus on the mechanisms of visual attention in cognitive neuroscience to understanding how attention impacts higher-level cognitive abilities, like spatial navigation, and how they decline through neurodegeneration in Alzheimer’s Disease.

Outside of the lab, Adam likes to bike, hike, garden, watch Netflix, and try new restaurants, coffee shops, and breweries. He is really happy that you took the time to read his little blurb.
