Steven Weisberg

CV

Steven Weisberg is an Assistant Professor and director of the Spatial Cognition and Navigational Neuroscience (SCANN) Lab at the University of Florida. He is a cognitive neuroscientist who examines spatial navigation behavior – why some people are better navigators than others, how we might improve spatial behavior, and why navigation declines in aging and Alzheimer’s disease.

Dr. Weisberg graduated from the College of William and Mary in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. In 2014, he earned his PhD in Psychology from Temple University, working with Dr. Nora Newcombe. He received an NRSA F32 fellowship to work as a post-doctoral fellow with Anjan Chatterjee and Russell Epstein at the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Cognitive Neuroscience. At UF, Dr. Weisberg’s research has been supported by multiple external grants (including from the NIA and NIMH and the Florida Department of Health). Dr. Weisberg is a Fellow of the Psychonomics Society and a member of the Cognitive Neuroscience Society.

Outside of the lab, Steven can be found playing or watching any number of sports, playing the guitar, cooking, solving puzzles, playing word games, or reading. He spends most evenings and weekends with his two children (Kylo and Arie). Growing up in the Philadelphia area, Steven has a love of all things Philly, but a healthy appetite for travel and new adventures, always looking for the next exciting challenge.
